This policy is from Local Marketing Group (ABN 32 642 227 423), which trades as Curlew. “We” means us. It covers our clients, the businesses we write to on our clients’ behalf, and anyone who uses this website. Questions go to support@curlew.com.au.

What we hold

About businesses we write to:

• the business’s name, website, suburb and the kind of business it is
• the email address and phone number the business publishes on its own website, and the name of the person they belong to where the site gives one
• notes on what we read on the website, so the email we write is relevant
• the emails we send, and any reply

About clients: your name, business, email and phone, what you tell us about your business and who you’d like to work with, and the emails sent and received for you. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.

About website visitors: what you type into a form on this site.

Where it comes from

From businesses’ own public websites and public business listings, and from you. We don’t buy, rent or sell lists.

What we use it for

• writing to businesses that could be a fit for our clients, and answering their replies
• passing a business that says it’s interested to the client we wrote for, with the email thread
• keeping a do-not-contact record so anyone who asks us to stop isn’t written to again
• running client accounts and billing

Who we share it with

The client we wrote for, when a business replies and is interested. The service providers we use to run Curlew: email hosting, website hosting, payments, and the specialised AI systems we use. They handle information for us and not for their own purposes. Some of them store or process it outside Australia, including in the United States. We don’t give your details to anyone else unless the law requires it.

Opting out

Reply “no thanks” to any email we send and we won’t write to you again for that business. If you’d rather not hear from us for any business, email support@curlew.com.au. See Got an email from us?

Seeing or correcting what we hold

Email support@curlew.com.au and we’ll tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, unless we need to keep a record (for example, that you asked us not to write again).

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. A business’s replies are seen by our team, the client we wrote for, and the service providers that process them for us.

Complaints

Email support@curlew.com.au and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
